The
Egyptian Port State Control System
To identify and meet the critical transportation
and port activity infrastructure needs of the region's businesses,
residents, and visitors: providing the highest quality, most efficient
transportation and port commerce facilities and services that move people
and goods within the region, provide access to the world, and strengthen the
economic competitiveness of the Egyptian-Mediterranean metropolitan region.
The Port State control controls and manages four Egyptian ports: Alexandria,
Portsaid, Damietta and Suez. Each of the ports has its own strategic
importance either in the Mediterranean or the Red Sea regions, thus binding
the two most active commerce zones in the world.

The Arab Olympiad in
Informatics (AOI) is a major national and Arab event. The Origin of the AOI is the Arab
Academy for
Science and Technology, who is -as well- sponsoring the first of these
events between 1 and 7 July 2002.
The AOI consists of several
contests among the high school and university students. Students compete
in solving some real live problems using computer algorithms.
